Bg 11.1
अर्जुन उवाच (Arjun Said):

मदनुग्रहाय परमं गुह्यमध्यात्मसंज्ञितम्।
यत्त्वयोक्तं वचस्तेन मोहोऽयं विगतो मम॥११- १॥
arjuna uvāca
mad-anugrahāya paramaṁ
guhyam adhyātma-saṁjñitam
yat tvayoktaṁ vacas tena
moho 'yaṁ vigato mama

아르주나가 말했다.

저에게 자비를 베푸셔서, 당신은 참나에 관한 가장 깊고 비밀스러운 가르침(아디야트마)을 말씀해 주셨습니다. 그래서 저의 미혹이 씻겨졌습니다.

Translation: 
Arjuna said: By my hearing the instructions You have kindly given me about these most confidential spiritual subjects, my illusion has now been dispelled.



Bg 11.2
भवाप्ययौ हि भूतानां श्रुतौ विस्तरशो मया।
त्वत्तः कमलपत्राक्ष माहात्म्यमपि चाव्ययम्॥११- २॥
bhavāpyayau hi bhūtānāṁ
śrutau vistaraśo mayā
tvattaḥ kamala-patrākṣa
māhātmyam api cāvyayam

오, 카말라파트락샤(크리슈나)시여! 저는 존재들의 기원과 소멸에 대하여, 그리고 당신의 다함이 없는 위대함에 대하여 당신으로부터 자세히 들었습니다.

bhava — appearance; apyayau — disappearance; hi — certainly; bhūtānām — of all living entities; śrutau — have been heard; vistaraśaḥ — in detail; mayā — by me; tvattaḥ — from You; kamala-patra-akṣa — O lotus-eyed one; māhātmyam — glories; api — also; ca — and; avyayam — inexhaustible.

Translation: 
O lotus-eyed one, I have heard from You in detail about the appearance and disappearance of every living entity and have realized Your inexhaustible glories.



Bg 11.3
एवमेतद्यथात्थ त्वमात्मानं परमेश्वर।
द्रष्टुमिच्छामि ते रूपमैश्वरं पुरुषोत्तम॥११- ३॥
evam etad yathāttha tvam
ātmānaṁ parameśvara
draṣṭum icchāmi te rūpam
aiśvaraṁ puruṣottama

지고의 신이신 당신께서 당신 자신에 대해 말씀하신 것이 정말 그러합니다. 오, 푸루쇼타마(크리슈나)시여! 그러나 저는 감히 이슈와라로서의 당신의 모습을 보고 싶습니다.

evam — thus; etat — this; yathā — as it is; āttha — have spoken; tvam — You; ātmānam — Yourself; parama-īśvara — O Supreme Lord; draṣṭum — to see; icchāmi — I wish; te — Your; rūpam — form; aiśvaram — divine; puruṣa-uttama — O best of personalities.

Translation: 
O greatest of all personalities, O supreme form, though I see You here before me in Your actual position, as You have described Yourself, I wish to see how You have entered into this cosmic manifestation. I want to see that form of Yours.



Bg 11.4
मन्यसे यदि तच्छक्यं मया द्रष्टुमिति प्रभो।
योगेश्वर ततो मे त्वं दर्शयात्मानमव्ययम्॥११- ४॥
manyase yadi tac chakyaṁ
mayā draṣṭum iti prabho
yogeśvara tato me tvaṁ
darśayātmānam avyayam

오, 주여! 만약 제가 그 모습을 감당할 수 있다고 생각하신다면, 오, 요게슈바라(크리슈나)시여! 당신의 불변의 참나를 저에게 보여 주십시오.

Translation: 
If You think that I am able to behold Your cosmic form, O my Lord, O master of all mystic power, then kindly show me that unlimited universal Self.



Bg 11.5
श्रीभगवानुवाच (THE LORD SAID): 
 

पश्य मे पार्थ रूपाणि शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः।
नानाविधानि दिव्यानि नानावर्णाकृतीनि च॥११- ५॥
śrī-bhagavān uvāca
paśya me pārtha rūpāṇi
śataśo 'tha sahasraśaḥ
nānā-vidhāni divyāni
nānā-varṇākṛtīni ca

슈리 바가반이 말했다.

오, 파르타(아르주나)여! 각양각색이며 수백 수천 가지로 있는 나의 신성한 모습들을 보라.

Translation: 
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: My dear Arjuna, O son of Pṛthā, see now My opulences, hundreds of thousands of varied divine and multicolored forms.



Bg 11.6
पश्यादित्यान्वसून्रुद्रानश्विनौ मरुतस्तथा।
बहून्यदृष्टपूर्वाणि पश्याश्चर्याणि भारत॥११- ६॥
paśyādityān vasūn rudrān
aśvinau marutas tathā
bahūny adṛṣṭa-pūrvāṇi
paśyāścaryāṇi bhārata

아디티야들, 바수들, 루드라들, 아스빈들, 마루트들과 이전에는 본 적이 없는 많은 경이로운 것들을 보라. 오, 바라타여!

Word for word: 
paśya — see; ādityān — the twelve sons of Aditi; vasūn — the eight Vasus; rudrān — the eleven forms of Rudra; aśvinau — the two Aśvinīs; marutaḥ — the forty—nine Maruts (demigods of the wind); tathā — also; bahūni — many; adṛṣṭa — that you have not seen; pūrvāṇi — before; paśya — see; āścaryāṇi — all the wonders; bhārata — O best of the Bhāratas.

Translation: 
O best of the Bhāratas, see here the different manifestations of Ādityas, Vasus, Rudras, Aśvinī-kumāras and all the other demigods. Behold the many wonderful things which no one has ever seen or heard of before.



Bg 11.7
इहैकस्थं जगत्कृत्स्नं पश्याद्य सचराचरम्।
मम देहे गुडाकेश यच्चान्यद् द्रष्टुमिच्छसि॥११- ७॥
ihaika-sthaṁ jagat kṛtsnaṁ
paśyādya sa-carācaram
mama dehe guḍākeśa
yac cānyad draṣṭum icchasi

오, 구다케사(아르주나)여! 움직이며 움직이지 않는 이 세상 모든 것들이 나의 몸 안에 자리 잡고 있는 것을 보아라. 그리고 그대가 보고 싶어 하는 그 밖의 다른 것들도 보아라.

iha — in this; eka-stham — in one place; jagat — the universe; kṛtsnam — completely; paśya — see; adya — immediately; sa — with; cara — the moving; acaram — and not moving; mama — My; dehe — in this body; guḍākeśa — O Arjuna; yat — that which; ca — also; anyat — other; draṣṭum — to see; icchasi — you wish.

Translation: 
O Arjuna, whatever you wish to see, behold at once in this body of Mine! This universal form can show you whatever you now desire to see and whatever you may want to see in the future. Everything—moving and nonmoving—is here completely, in one place.



Bg 11.8
न तु मां शक्यसे द्रष्टुमनेनैव स्वचक्षुषा।
दिव्यं ददामि ते चक्षुः पश्य मे योगमैश्वरम्॥११- ८॥
na tu māṁ śakyase draṣṭum
anenaiva sva-cakṣuṣā
divyaṁ dadāmi te cakṣuḥ
paśya me yogam aiśvaram

그대의 눈으로는 나를 볼 수 없다. 내가 그대에게 신성한 눈을 줄 터이니, 나의 존엄한 요가의 힘을 보아라.

na — never; tu — but; mām — Me; śakyase — are able; draṣṭum — to see; anena — with these; eva — certainly; sva-cakṣuṣā — your own eyes; divyam — divine; dadāmi — I give; te — to you; cakṣuḥ — eyes; paśya — see; me — My; yogam aiśvaram — inconceivable mystic power.

Translation: 
But you cannot see Me with your present eyes. Therefore I give you divine eyes. Behold My mystic opulence!



Bg 11.9
संजय उवाच (Sanjay Said):
 
एवमुक्त्वा ततो राजन्महायोगेश्वरो हरिः।
दर्शयामास पार्थाय परमं रूपमैश्वरम्॥११- ९॥
sañjaya uvāca
evam uktvā tato rājan
mahā-yogeśvaro hariḥ
darśayām āsa pārthāya
paramaṁ rūpam aiśvaram

이와 같이 말한 뒤에, 오, 왕이시여! 요가의 주主이신 하리께서는 파르타(아르주나)에게 이슈와라의 모습을 보여주셨습니다.

Translation: 
Sañjaya said: O King, having spoken thus, the Supreme Lord of all mystic power, the Personality of Godhead, displayed His universal form to Arjuna. 



Bg 11.10-11
अनेकवक्त्रनयनमनेकाद्भुतदर्शनम्।
अनेकदिव्याभरणं दिव्यानेकोद्यतायुधम्॥११- १०॥

दिव्यमाल्याम्बरधरं दिव्यगन्धानुलेपनम्।
सर्वाश्चर्यमयं देवमनन्तं विश्वतोमुखम्॥११- ११॥
aneka-vaktra-nayanam
anekādbhuta-darśanam
aneka-divyābharaṇaṁ
divyānekodyatāyudham
divya-mālyāmbara-dharaṁ
divya-gandhānulepanam
sarvāścarya-mayaṁ devam
anantaṁ viśvato-mukham

수많은 입과 눈이 있고, 수많은 경이로운 모습들을 지니셨으며, 수많은 천상의 장신구들로 장식되고, 수많은 신성한 무기들을 들고 계시며, 그리고,

신성한 화환과 의상을 걸치시고, 신성한 향료를 바르시고, 사방으로 얼굴을 향하고 계시는 그런 모습을 보여 주셨습니다. 모두 경이롭고 눈부시며 끝이 없었습니다.

Translation: 
Arjuna saw in that universal form unlimited mouths, unlimited eyes, unlimited wonderful visions. The form was decorated with many celestial ornaments and bore many divine upraised weapons. He wore celestial garlands and garments, and many divine scents were smeared over His body. All was wondrous, brilliant, unlimited, all-expanding.



Bg 11.12
दिवि सूर्यसहस्रस्य भवेद्युगपदुत्थिता।
यदि भाः सदृशी सा स्याद्भासस्तस्य महात्मनः॥११- १२॥
divi sūrya-sahasrasya
bhaved yugapad utthitā
yadi bhāḥ sadṛśī sā syād
bhāsas tasya mahātmanaḥ

천개의 태양이 하늘에서 동시에 그 빛을 뿜는다면, 굉장하신 분의 빛에 겨우 근사했을 것입니다.

Word for word: 
divi — in the sky; sūrya — of suns; sahasrasya — of many thousands; bhavet — there were; yugapat — simultaneously; utthitā — present; yadi — if; bhāḥ — light; sadṛśī — like that; sā — that; syāt — might be; bhāsaḥ — effulgence; tasya — of Him; mahā-ātmanaḥ — the great Lord.

Translation: 
If hundreds of thousands of suns were to rise at once into the sky, their radiance might resemble the effulgence of the Supreme Person in that universal form.



Bg 11.13
तत्रैकस्थं जगत्कृत्स्नं प्रविभक्तमनेकधा।
अपश्यद्देवदेवस्य शरीरे पाण्डवस्तदा॥११- १३॥
tatraika-sthaṁ jagat kṛtsnaṁ
pravibhaktam anekadhā
apaśyad deva-devasya
śarīre pāṇḍavas tadā

그때 판다바(아르주나)는 그 곳에서, 신들의 신의 몸안에서, 하나 안에 자리 잡고 있으면서 수많은 구분들로 나누어진 온 세상을 보았습니다.

tatra — there; eka-stham — in one place; jagat — the universe; kṛtsnam — complete; pravibhaktam — divided; anekadhā — into many; apaśyat — could see; deva-devasya — of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; śarīre — in the universal form; pāṇḍavaḥ — Arjuna; tadā — at that time.

Translation: 
At that time Arjuna could see in the universal form of the Lord the unlimited expansions of the universe situated in one place although divided into many, many thousands.




Bg 11.14
ततः स विस्मयाविष्टो हृष्टरोमा धनंजयः।
प्रणम्य शिरसा देवं कृताञ्जलिरभाषत॥११- १४॥
tataḥ sa vismayāviṣṭo
hṛṣṭa-romā dhanañjayaḥ
praṇamya śirasā devaṁ
kṛtāñjalir abhāṣata

그러자 놀라움으로 가득차 머리털이 곤두선 아르주나는 두 손을 모으고 머리를 숙여 절하며 신에게 이렇게 말하였습니다.

tataḥ — thereafter; saḥ — he; vismaya-āviṣṭaḥ — being overwhelmed with wonder; hṛṣṭa-romā — with his bodily hairs standing on end due to his great ecstasy; dhanañjayaḥ — Arjuna; praṇamya — offering obeisances; śirasā — with the head; devam — to the Supreme Personality of Godhead; kṛta-añjaliḥ — with folded hands; abhāṣata — began to speak.

Translation: 
Then, bewildered and astonished, his hair standing on end, Arjuna bowed his head to offer obeisances and with folded hands began to pray to the Supreme Lord.



Bg 11.15
अर्जुन उवाच (Arjun Said):

पश्यामि देवांस्तव देव देहे सर्वांस्तथा भूतविशेषसंघान्।
ब्रह्माणमीशं कमलासनस्थमृषींश्च सर्वानुरगांश्च दिव्यान्॥११- १५॥
arjuna uvāca
paśyāmi devāṁs tava deva dehe
sarvāṁs tathā bhūta-viśeṣa-saṅghān
brahmāṇam īśaṁ kamalāsana-stham
ṛṣīṁś ca sarvān uragāṁś ca divyān

아르주나가 말했다.

오, 신이시여! 저는 당신으 몸 안에서 모든 신들과 다양한 존재들의 무리를 봅니다. 연꽃 위에 계시는 창조주 브라마, 모든 리쉬들과 천상의 뱀들을 봅니다.

Translation: 
Arjuna said: My dear Lord Kṛṣṇa, I see assembled in Your body all the demigods and various other living entities. I see Brahmā sitting on the lotus flower, as well as Lord Śiva and all the sages and divine serpents.



Bg 11.16
अनेकबाहूदरवक्त्रनेत्रं पश्यामि त्वां सर्वतोऽनन्तरूपम्।
नान्तं न मध्यं न पुनस्तवादिं पश्यामि विश्वेश्वर  विश्वरूप॥११- १६॥
aneka-bāhūdara-vaktra-netraṁ
paśyāmi tvāṁ sarvato 'nanta-rūpam
nāntaṁ na madhyaṁ na punas tavādiṁ
paśyāmi viśveśvara viśva-rūpa

저는 사방에 수많은 팔과 배와 입과 눈이 있는 당신의 무한한 모습을 봅니다. 그라나 당신의 끝도, 당신의 중간도, 당신의 시작도 볼 수 없습니다. 오, 우주의 주인이시여! 오, 우주적인 모습이시여!

Translation: 
O Lord of the universe, O universal form, I see in Your body many, many arms, bellies, mouths and eyes, expanded everywhere, without limit. I see in You no end, no middle and no beginning.



Bg 11.17
किरीटिनं गदिनं चक्रिणं च तेजोराशिं सर्वतो दीप्तिमन्तम्।
पश्यामि त्वां दुर्निरीक्ष्यं समन्ताद्दीप्तानलार्कद्युतिमप्रमेयम्॥११- १७॥
kirīṭinaṁ gadinaṁ cakriṇaṁ ca
tejo-rāśiṁ sarvato dīptimantam
paśyāmi tvāṁ durnirīkṣyaṁ samantād
dīptānalārka-dyutim aprameyam

저는 왕관을 쓰시고 곤봉과 원반을 갖추고 계시는 당신을 봅니다만 당신이 태양처럼 이글거리며 타오르는 불을 온 사방으로 뿜고 있는 에너지 덩어리로 보여서 바라보기가 몹시 힘듭니다.

Word for word: 
kirīṭinam — with helmets; gadinam — with maces; cakriṇam — with discs; ca — and; tejaḥ-rāśim — effulgence; sarvataḥ — on all sides; dīpti-mantam — glowing; paśyāmi — I see; tvām — You; durnirīkṣyam — difficult to see; samantāt — everywhere; dīpta-anala — blazing fire; arka — of the sun; dyutim — the sunshine; aprameyam — immeasurable.

Translation: 
Your form is difficult to see because of its glaring effulgence, spreading on all sides, like blazing fire or the immeasurable radiance of the sun. Yet I see this glowing form everywhere, adorned with various crowns, clubs and discs.



Bg 11.18
त्वमक्षरं परमं वेदितव्यं त्वमस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम्।
त्वमव्ययः शाश्वतधर्मगोप्ता सनातनस्त्वं पुरुषो मतो मे॥११- १८॥
tvam akṣaraṁ paramaṁ veditavyaṁ
tvam asya viśvasya paraṁ nidhānam
tvam avyayaḥ śāśvata-dharma-goptā
sanātanas tvaṁ puruṣo mato me

당신은 불멸이시며, 지고의 존재이시며, 알려져야 할 지고의 대상이십니다. 당신은 이 우주의 궁극의 안식처이십니다. 당신은 영원한 다르마를 지키는 불사의 수호자이시며, 가장 오래된 푸루샤이시라고 저는 여깁니다.

tvam — You; akṣaram — the infallible; paramam — supreme; veditavyam — to be understood; tvam — You; asya — of this; viśvasya — universe; param — supreme; nidhānam — basis; tvam — You; avyayaḥ — inexhaustible; śāśvata-dharma-goptā — maintainer of the eternal religion; sanātanaḥ — eternal; tvam — You; puruṣaḥ — the Supreme Personality; mataḥ me — this is my opinion.

Translation: 
You are the supreme primal objective. You are the ultimate resting place of all this universe. You are inexhaustible, and You are the oldest. You are the maintainer of the eternal religion, the Personality of Godhead. This is my opinion.



Bg 11.19
अनादिमध्यान्तमनन्तवीर्यमनन्तबाहुं शशिसूर्यनेत्रम्।
पश्यामि त्वां दीप्तहुताशवक्त्रं स्वतेजसा विश्वमिदं तपन्तम्॥११- १९॥
anādi-madhyāntam ananta-vīryam
ananta-bāhuṁ śaśi-sūrya-netram
paśyāmi tvāṁ dīpta-hutāśa-vaktraṁ
sva-tejasā viśvam idaṁ tapantam

저는 시작도 중간도 끝도 없으시며, 무한한 힘과 무수한 팔을 지니고 계시는 당신을 봅니다. 태양과 달이 당신의 눈이며, 당신의 입은 타오르는 불이시며, 당신의 광휘가 온 우주를 가득 채우고 있습니다.

anādi — without beginning; madhya — middle; antam — or end; ananta — unlimited; vīryam — glories; ananta — unlimited; bāhum — arms; śaśi — the moon; sūrya — and sun; netram — eyes; paśyāmi — I see; tvām — You; dīpta — blazing; hutāśa-vaktram — fire coming out of Your mouth; sva-tejasā — by Your radiance; viśvam — universe; idam — this; tapantam — heating.

Translation: 
You are without origin, middle or end. Your glory is unlimited. You have numberless arms, and the sun and moon are Your eyes. I see You with blazing fire coming forth from Your mouth, burning this entire universe by Your own radiance.



Bg 11.20
द्यावापृथिव्योरिदमन्तरं हि व्याप्तं त्वयैकेन दिशश्च सर्वाः।
दृष्ट्वाद्भुतं रूपमुग्रं तवेदं लोकत्रयं प्रव्यथितं महात्मन्॥११- २०॥
dyāv ā-pṛthivyor idam antaraṁ hi
vyāptaṁ tvayaikena diśaś ca sarvāḥ
dṛṣṭvādbhutaṁ rūpam ugraṁ tavedaṁ
loka-trayaṁ pravyathitaṁ mahātman

하늘과 땅 사이의 공간과 온 사방은 당신으로만 가득 차 있습니다. 삼계가 당신의 경이롭고 무서운 모습을 보고 전율합니다. 오, 마하트만(크리슈나)이시여! 강력한 영혼이시여!

Translation: 
Although You are one, You spread throughout the sky and the planets and all space between. O great one, seeing this wondrous and terrible form, all the planetary systems are perturbed.



Bg 11.21
अमी हि त्वां सुरसंघा विशन्ति केचिद्भीताः प्राञ्जलयो गृणन्ति।
स्वस्तीत्युक्त्वा महर्षिसिद्धसंघाः स्तुवन्ति त्वां स्तुतिभिः पुष्कलाभिः॥११- २१॥
amī hi tvāṁ sura-saṅghā viśanti
kecid bhītāḥ prāñjalayo gṛṇanti
svastīty uktvā maharṣi-siddha-saṅghāḥ
stuvanti tvāṁ stutibhiḥ puṣkalābhiḥ

실로, 이 수라들 즉 지금 싸우고 있는 전사의 모습을 하고 있는 신들의 무리가 당신 안으로 들어갑니다. 어떤 자들은 두려워서 두손을 모으고 찬양하고, 위대한 리쉬들과 싯다들은  "평화가 있기를!" 이라고 외치며 빛나는 찬가들로 당신을 찬양합니다.

amī — all those; hi — certainly; tvām — You; sura-saṅghāḥ — groups of demigods; viśanti — are entering; kecit — some of them; bhītāḥ — out of fear; prāñjalayaḥ — with folded hands; gṛṇanti — are offering prayers; svasti — all peace; iti — thus; uktvā — speaking; mahā-ṛṣi — great sages; siddha-saṅghāḥ — perfect beings; stuvanti — are singing hymns; tvām — unto You; stutibhiḥ — with prayers; puṣkalābhiḥ — Vedic hymns.

Translation: 
All the hosts of demigods are surrendering before You and entering into You. Some of them, very much afraid, are offering prayers with folded hands. Hosts of great sages and perfected beings, crying "All peace!" are praying to You by singing the Vedic hymns.



Bg 11.22
रुद्रादित्या वसवो ये च साध्या विश्वेऽश्विनौ मरुतश्चोष्मपाश्च।
गन्धर्वयक्षासुरसिद्धसंघा वीक्षन्ते त्वां विस्मिताश्चैव सर्वे॥११- २२॥
rudrādityā vasavo ye ca sādhyā
viśve 'śvinau marutaś coṣmapāś ca
gandharva-yakṣāsura-siddha-saṅghā
vīkṣante tvāṁ vismitāś caiva sarve

루드라들, 아디티야들, 바수들, 사디야들, 비슈바데바들, 아스빈들, 마루트들, 우슈마파들, 그리고 간다르바들, 약사들, 아수라들, 또한 싯다들, 이모두가 놀란 얼굴로 당신을 바라보고 있습니다.

All the various manifestations of Lord Śiva, the Ādityas, the Vasus, the Sādhyas, the Viśvedevas, the two Aśvīs, the Maruts, the forefathers, the Gandharvas, the Yakṣas, the Asuras and the perfected demigods are beholding You in wonder.



Bg 11.23
रूपं महत्ते बहुवक्त्रनेत्रं महाबाहो बहुबाहूरुपादम्।
बहूदरं बहुदंष्ट्राकरालं दृष्ट्वा लोकाः प्रव्यथितास्तथाहम्॥११- २३॥
rūpaṁ mahat te bahu-vaktra-netraṁ
mahā-bāho bahu-bāhūru-pādam
bahūdaraṁ bahu-daṁṣṭrā-karālaṁ
dṛṣṭvā lokāḥ pravyathitās tathāham

오, 마하바호(크리슈나)시여! 수많은 입과 눈, 수많은 팔과 다리와 발, 수많은 배, 수많은 무시무시한 송곳니가 있는 당신의 헤아릴 수 없는 모습에 모든 세상들이 겁에 질려 넋을 잃었습니다. 저 또한 그렇습니다.

O mighty-armed one, all the planets with their demigods are disturbed at seeing Your great form, with its many faces, eyes, arms, thighs, legs, and bellies and Your many terrible teeth; and as they are disturbed, so am I. 



Bg 11.24
नभःस्पृशं दीप्तमनेकवर्णं व्यात्ताननं दीप्तविशालनेत्रम्।
दृष्ट्वा हि त्वां प्रव्यथितान्तरात्मा धृतिं न विन्दामि शमं च विष्णो॥११- २४॥
nabhaḥ-spṛśaṁ dīptam aneka-varṇaṁ
vyāttānanaṁ dīpta-viśāla-netram
dṛṣṭvā hi tvāṁ pravyathitāntar-ātmā
dhṛtiṁ na vindāmi śamaṁ ca viṣṇo

이글거리는 커다란 눈들, 넓게 벌린 입, 수많은 색깔들로 눈부시게 빛나며 하늘까지 닿은 당신의 모습을 보고서, 저는 너무 두려워, 오, 비슈누시여! 어떠한 평화도 용기도 찾지 못하겠습니다.

O all-pervading Viṣṇu, seeing You with Your many radiant colors touching the sky, Your gaping mouths, and Your great glowing eyes, my mind is perturbed by fear. I can no longer maintain my steadiness or equilibrium of mind.



Bg 11.25
दंष्ट्राकरालानि च ते मुखानि दृष्ट्वैव कालानलसन्निभानि।
दिशो न जाने न लभे च शर्म प्रसीद देवेश जगन्निवास॥११- २५॥
daṁṣṭrā-karālāni ca te mukhāni
dṛṣṭvaiva kālānala-sannibhāni
diśo na jāne na labhe ca śarma
prasīda deveśa jagan-nivāsa

무시무시한 송곳니들이 달려 있으며 모든 것을 태워버리는 시간의 불꽃(해체)들을 닮은 당신의 입을 보니, 저는 어디가 어디인지를 알 수 없고 평화도 찾지 못하겠습니다. 제게 은총을 베풀어 주소서, 오, 데바사시며 자간니바사(크리슈나)시여!

Bg 11.26-27
अमी च त्वां धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्राः सर्वे सहैवावनिपालसंघैः।
भीष्मो द्रोणः सूतपुत्रस्तथासौ सहास्मदीयैरपि योधमुख्यैः॥११- २६॥

वक्त्राणि ते त्वरमाणा विशन्ति दंष्ट्राकरालानि भयानकानि।
केचिद्विलग्ना दशनान्तरेषु संदृश्यन्ते चूर्णितैरुत्तमाङ्गैः॥११- २७॥
amī ca tvāṁ dhṛtarāṣṭrasya putrāḥ
sarve sahaivāvani-pāla-saṅghaiḥ
bhīṣmo droṇaḥ sūta-putras tathāsau
sahāsmadīyair api yodha-mukhyaiḥ
vaktrāṇi te tvaramāṇā viśanti
daṁṣṭrā-karālāni bhayānakāni
kecid vilagnā daśanāntareṣu
sandṛśyante cūrṇitair uttamāṅgaiḥ

그리고 드리타라슈트라의 모든 아들들과 왕들의 무리, 비슈마, 드로나, 그리고 전차장의 아들인 카르나와 우리편의 으뜸가는 전사들이 무시무시한 송곳니들이 있으며 바라보기조차 두려운 당신의 입 속으로 급히 빠려 들어갑니다. 어떤 사람들은 당신의 이빨 사이에 머리가 가루로 부서지는 것이 보입니다.

All the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, along with their allied kings, and Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Karṇa—and our chief soldiers also—are rushing into Your fearful mouths. And some I see trapped with heads smashed between Your teeth.



Bg 11.28
यथा नदीनां बहवोऽम्बुवेगाः समुद्रमेवाभिमुखा द्रवन्ति।
तथा तवामी नरलोकवीरा विशन्ति वक्त्राण्यभिविज्वलन्ति॥११- २८॥
yathā nadīnāṁ bahavo 'mbu-vegāḥ
samudram evābhimukhā dravanti
tathā tavāmī nara-loka-vīrā
viśanti vaktrāṇy abhivijvalanti

수많은 강들이 바다로 흘러가듯이, 인간 세상의 저 영웅들도 당신의 불타오르는 입들 속으로 들어갑니다.

यथा प्रदीप्तं ज्वलनं पतङ्गा विशन्ति नाशाय समृद्धवेगाः।
तथैव नाशाय विशन्ति लोकास्तवापि वक्त्राणि समृद्धवेगाः॥११- २९॥
yathā pradīptaṁ jvalanaṁ pataṅgā
viśanti nāśāya samṛddha-vegāḥ
tathaiva nāśāya viśanti lokās
tavāpi vaktrāṇi samṛddha-vegāḥ

나방들이 타오르는 불길 속으로 뛰어들어 죽듯이, 저 영웅들도 당신의 입 속으로 돌진해 들어가 파멸해 버립니다.

लेलिह्यसे ग्रसमानः समन्ताल्लोकान्समग्रान्वदनैर्ज्वलद्भिः।
तेजोभिरापूर्य जगत्समग्रं भासस्तवोग्राः प्रतपन्ति विष्णो॥११- ३०॥
lelihyase grasamānaḥ samantāl
lokān samagrān vadanair jvaladbhiḥ
tejobhir āpūrya jagat samagraṁ
bhāsas tavogrāḥ pratapanti viṣṇo

당신은 불타오르는 입들로 온 세상들을 온통 삼키시고 불타는 혀로 그것들을 핥으십니다. 당신의 맹렬한 관선들의 빛나는 에너지는 온세상을 빨아들이며 태우십니다. 오, 비슈누시여!

O Viṣṇu, I see You devouring all people from all sides with Your flaming mouths. Covering all the universe with Your effulgence, You are manifest with terrible, scorching rays.



Bg 11.31
आख्याहि मे को भवानुग्ररूपो नमोऽस्तु ते देववर प्रसीद।
विज्ञातुमिच्छामि भवन्तमाद्यं न हि प्रजानामि तव प्रवृत्तिम्॥११- ३१॥
ākhyāhi me ko bhavān ugra-rūpo
namo 'stu te deva-vara prasīda
vijñātum icchāmi bhavantam ādyaṁ
na hi prajānāmi tava pravṛttim

오, 지고의 신이시여! 그토록 무서운 모습을 하고 계신 당신이 누구이신지 저에게 말하여 주십시오. 당신 앞에 엎드리오니 자비를 베풀어 주십시오. 저는 본래 모습의 당신을 알고 싶습니다. 왜냐하면 당신께서 하시는 바를 저는 도무지 알 수 없기 때문입니다.

Bg 11.32
श्रीभगवानुवाच (THE LORD SAID):
 
कालोऽस्मि लोकक्षयकृत्प्रवृद्धो लोकान्समाहर्तुमिह प्रवृत्तः।
ऋतेऽपि त्वां न भविष्यन्ति सर्वे येऽवस्थिताः प्रत्यनीकेषु योधाः॥११- ३२॥
śrī-bhagavān uvāca
kālo 'smi loka-kṣaya-kṛt pravṛddho
lokān samāhartum iha pravṛttaḥ
ṛte 'pi tvāṁ na bhaviṣyanti sarve
ye 'vasthitāḥ pratyanīkeṣu yodhāḥ

나는 온 세상을 파괴하는 시간의 영이며, 이제 이 세상들을 파괴하고 있다. 그대가 여기에 없더라도 적의 진영에 도열해 있는 전사들은 아무도 살아남지 못할 것이다.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Time I am, the great destroyer of the worlds, and I have come here to destroy all people. With the exception of you [the Pāṇḍavas], all the soldiers here on both sides will be slain.



Bg 11.33
तस्मात्त्वमुत्तिष्ठ यशो लभस्व जित्वा शत्रून् भुङ्क्ष्व राज्यं समृद्धम्।
मयैवैते निहताः पूर्वमेव निमित्तमात्रं भव सव्यसाचिन्॥११- ३३॥
tasmāt tvam uttiṣṭha yaśo labhasva
jitvā śatrūn bhuṅkṣva rājyaṁ samṛddham
mayaivaite nihatāḥ pūrvam eva
nimitta-mātraṁ bhava savya-sācin

그러므로 그대는 일어서서 명예를 얻어라! 이미 나에 의해 죽은 적들을 정복하고서 풍요로운 왕권을 누려라. 오, 사비야사친(아르주나)이여! 그대를 오로지 도구로 여겨라.

Therefore get up. Prepare to fight and win glory. Conquer your enemies and enjoy a flourishing kingdom. They are already put to death by My arrangement, and you, O Savyasācī, can be but an instrument in the fight.



Bg 11.34
द्रोणं च भीष्मं च जयद्रथं च कर्णं तथान्यानपि योधवीरान्।
मया हतांस्त्वं जहि मा व्यथिष्ठा युध्यस्व जेतासि रणे सपत्नान्॥११- ३४॥
droṇaṁ ca bhīṣmaṁ ca jayadrathaṁ ca
karṇaṁ tathānyān api yodha-vīrān
mayā hatāṁs tvaṁ jahi mā vyathiṣṭhā
yudhyasva jetāsi raṇe sapatnān

내가 이미 죽인 이들인 드로나, 비슈마, 자야드라타, 카르나와 다른 용감한 전사들을 그대는 죽여라. 두려워하지 말고 싸우라. 그대는 이 싸움에서 승리할 것이다.

Droṇa, Bhīṣma, Jayadratha, Karṇa and the other great warriors have already been destroyed by Me. Therefore, kill them and do not be disturbed. Simply fight, and you will vanquish your enemies in battle.



Bg 11.35
संजय उवाच (Sanjay Said):
 
एतच्छ्रुत्वा वचनं केशवस्य कृताञ्जलिर्वेपमानः किरीटी।
नमस्कृत्वा भूय एवाह कृष्णं सगद्गदं भीतभीतः प्रणम्य॥११- ३५॥
sañjaya uvāca
etac chrutvā vacanaṁ keśavasya
kṛtāñjalir vepamānaḥ kirītī
namaskṛtvā bhūya evāha kṛṣṇa
sa-gadgadaṁ bhīta-bhītaḥ praṇamya

산자야가 말했다.

케샤바(크리슈나)의 이 말씀을 듣고서, 왕관을 쓴 아르주나는 두 손을 모아 합장한 채 절하면서 두려움에 사로잡혀 더듬거리는 목소리로 크리슈나에게 다시 여쭈었습니다.

Sañjaya said to Dhṛtarāṣṭra: O King, after hearing these words from the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the trembling Arjuna offered obeisances with folded hands again and again. He fearfully spoke to Lord Kṛṣṇa in a faltering voice, as follows.



Bg 11.36
अर्जुन उवाच (Arjun Said):

स्थाने हृषीकेश तव प्रकीर्त्या जगत्प्रहृष्यत्यनुरज्यते च।
रक्षांसि भीतानि दिशो द्रवन्ति सर्वे नमस्यन्ति च सिद्धसंघाः॥११- ३६॥
arjuna uvāca
sthāne hṛṣīkeśa tava prakīrtyā
jagat prahṛṣyaty anurajyate ca
rakṣāṁsi bhītāni diśo dravanti
sarve namasyanti ca siddha-saṅghāḥ

아르주나가 말했다.

오, 흐리쉬케사(크리슈나)시여! 당신의 영광스러운 이름들을 찬양하면서 세상이 기뻐하고 즐거워해야 하는 것은 마땅합니다. 무서운 악마들은 겁을 먹고 사방으로 달아나며, 모든 싯다의 무리들은 당신께 경배를 드립니다.

Arjuna said: O master of the senses, the world becomes joyful upon hearing Your name, and thus everyone becomes attached to You. Although the perfected beings offer You their respectful homage, the demons are afraid, and they flee here and there. All this is rightly done.



Bg 11.37
कस्माच्च ते न नमेरन्महात्मन् गरीयसे ब्रह्मणोऽप्यादिकर्त्रे।
अनन्त देवेश जगन्निवास त्वमक्षरं सदसत्तत्परं यत्॥११- ३७॥
kasmāc ca te na nameran mahātman
garīyase brahmaṇo 'py ādi-kartre
ananta deveśa jagan-nivāsa
tvam akṣaraṁ sad-asat tat paraṁ yat

오, 마하트만(크리슈나)이시여! 어떻게 그들이 당신께 경배를 드리지 않을 수 있겠습니까? 왜냐하면 당신은 다른 무엇보다도 위대하시며, 최초의 원인이시며, 브라흐마조차 당신에게서 나왔습니다. 오, 아난타시여! 오, 데베사시여! 오, 자간니바사시여! 당신은 불멸이고, 존재이며 비존재이시며, 이 둘을 초월해 계시는 분이십니다.

त्वमादिदेवः पुरुषः पुराणस्त्वमस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम्।
वेत्तासि वेद्यं च परं च धाम त्वया ततं विश्वमनन्तरूप॥११- ३८॥
tvam ādi-devaḥ puruṣaḥ purāṇas
tvam asya viśvasya paraṁ nidhānam
vettāsi vedyaṁ ca paraṁ ca dhāma
tvayā tataṁ viśvam ananta-rūpa

वायुर्यमोऽग्निर्वरुणः शशाङ्कः प्रजापतिस्त्वं प्रपितामहश्च।
नमो नमस्तेऽस्तु सहस्रकृत्वः पुनश्च भूयोऽपि नमो नमस्ते॥११- ३९॥
vāyur yamo 'gnir varuṇaḥ śaśāṅkaḥ
prajāpatis tvaṁ prapitāmahaś ca
namo namas te 'stu sahasra-kṛtvaḥ
punaś ca bhūyo 'pi namo namas te

당신께서는 바람인 바유이시며, 죽음인 야마이시며, 불인 아그니시며, 바다의 신인 바루나이시며, 달이시며, 프라자파티시며, 모든 존재들의 최초의 조상이십니다. 경배를! 당신께 백 번의 경배를! 천 번의 경배를! 그리고 다시 또 경배를! 당신께 경배를!

नमः पुरस्तादथ पृष्ठतस्ते नमोऽस्तु ते सर्वत एव सर्व।
अनन्तवीर्यामितविक्रमस्त्वं सर्वं समाप्नोषि ततोऽसि सर्वः॥११- ४०॥
namaḥ purastād atha pṛṣṭhatas te
namo 'stu te sarvata eva sarva
ananta-vīryāmita-vikramas tvaṁ
sarvaṁ samāpnoṣi tato 'si sarvaḥ

앞에서도 뒤에서도 당신께 경배를! 온 사방에서 당신께 경배를! 오, 모든 것인 분이시여! 당신의 무한한 힘은 한이 없으시고, 당신의 용맹은 측량할 수 없으십니다. 당신은 모든 것에 스며들어 있으므로 당신은 모든 것 자체이십니다.

सखेति मत्वा प्रसभं यदुक्तं हे कृष्ण हे यादव हे सखेति।
अजानता महिमानं तवेदं मया प्रमादात्प्रणयेन वापि॥११- ४१॥

यच्चावहासार्थमसत्कृतोऽसि विहारशय्यासनभोजनेषु।
एकोऽथवाप्यच्युत तत्समक्षं तत्क्षामये त्वामहमप्रमेयम्॥११- ४२॥
sakheti matvā prasabhaṁ yad uktaṁ
he kṛṣṇa he yādava he sakheti
ajānatā mahimānaṁ tavedaṁ
mayā pramādāt praṇayena vāpi
yac cāvahāsārtham asat-kṛto 'si
vihāra-śayyāsana-bhojaneṣu
eko 'tha vāpy acyuta tat-samakṣaṁ
tat kṣāmaye tvām aham aprameyam

이와 같은 당신의 위대함을 몰라보고 저는 당신을 단순히 친구로 여기며 경솔하게 혹은 애정으로 '어이, 크리슈나', '어이, 야다바', '어이, 친구'라고 불렀습니다. 그리고 함께 놀 때나 쉴때나 식사를 할 때나 여럿이 모여 있을 때나 혼자 있을 때나 함께 있을 때나 당신께 어떤 식으로든 장난삼아 모욕적인 말을 했을지도 모릅니다. 오, 아츄타(크리슈나)시여! 헤아릴 수 없는 분인 당신께 간청하오니 부디 저의 그러한 행동을 용서하여 주십시오.

Thinking of You as my friend, I have rashly addressed You "O Kṛṣṇa," "O Yādava," "O my friend," not knowing Your glories. Please forgive whatever I may have done in madness or in love. I have dishonored You many times, jesting as we relaxed, lay on the same bed, or sat or ate together, sometimes alone and sometimes in front of many friends. O infallible one, please excuse me for all those offenses.



Bg 11.43
पितासि लोकस्य चराचरस्य त्वमस्य पूज्यश्च गुरुर्गरीयान्।
न त्वत्समोऽस्त्यभ्यधिकः कुतोऽन्यो लोकत्रयेऽप्यप्रतिमप्रभाव॥११- ४३॥
pitāsi lokasya carācarasya
tvam asya pūjyaś ca gurur garīyān
na tvat-samo 'sty abhyadhikaḥ kuto 'nyo
loka-traye 'py apratima-prabhāva

당신은 생명이 있는 것과 생명이 없는 것으로 이루어진 이 세상의 아버지 이십니다. 당신은 이 세상의 숭배를 받아야 마땅한 분이십니다. 당신은 가장 값진 분이시며 위대한 스승이십니다. 당신과 필적하는 것은 존재하지 않습니다. 오, 비할 바 없이 위대한 존재시여! 삼계에 당신을 능가하는 존재가 있을 수 있겠습니까?

No one is greater than You, nor can anyone be one with You. How then could there be anyone greater than You within the three worlds, O Lord of immeasurable power?



Bg 11.44
तस्मात्प्रणम्य प्रणिधाय कायं प्रसादये त्वामहमीशमीड्यम्।
पितेव पुत्रस्य सखेव सख्युः प्रियः प्रियायार्हसि देव सोढुम्॥११- ४४॥
tasmāt praṇamya praṇidhāya kāyaṁ
prasādaye tvām aham īśam īḍyam
piteva putrasya sakheva sakhyuḥ
priyaḥ priyāyārhasi deva soḍhum

그러므로 저는 당신에게 엎드려 절하며, 칭송받아 마땅한 주主이신 당신께 용서를 간청합니다. 아버지가 아들을 용서하듯이, 친구가 친구를 용서하듯이, 사랑하는 사람이 연인을 용서하듯이 저를 용서하여 주십시오.

Bg 11.45
अदृष्टपूर्वं हृषितोऽस्मि दृष्ट्वा भयेन च प्रव्यथितं मनो मे।
तदेव मे दर्शय देव रूपं प्रसीद देवेश जगन्निवास॥११- ४५॥
adṛṣṭa-pūrvaṁ hṛṣito 'smi dṛṣṭvā
bhayena ca pravyathitaṁ mano me
tad eva me darśaya deva rūpaṁ
prasīda deveśa jagan-nivāsa

저는 이전에 본 적이 없는 것을 보고 기뻤습니다. 그런데도 저의 마음은 두려워 당혹스럽습니다. 오, 신이시여! 저에게 당신의 다른 모습을 보여 주십시오. 자비를 베풀어 주소서, 오, 데베사시여! 자간니바사시여!

Bg 11.46
किरीटिनं गदिनं चक्रहस्तमिच्छामि त्वां द्रष्टुमहं तथैव।
तेनैव रूपेण चतुर्भुजेन सहस्रबाहो भव विश्वमूर्ते॥११- ४६॥
kirīṭinaṁ gadinaṁ cakra-hastam
icchāmi tvāṁ draṣṭum ahaṁ tathaiva
tenaiva rūpeṇa catur-bhujena
sahasra-bāho bhava viśva-mūrte

저는 왕관을 쓰고 곤봉을 쥐고 원반을 손에 들고 계시며 팔이 넷인 당신의 이전 모습만을 보고 싶습니다. 오, 천개의 팔을 가진 분이시여! 오,우주의 모습을 하고 계시는 분이시여!

Bg 11.47
श्रीभगवानुवाच (THE LORD SAID):
 
मया प्रसन्नेन तवार्जुनेदं रूपं परं दर्शितमात्मयोगात्।
तेजोमयं विश्वमनन्तमाद्यं यन्मे त्वदन्येन न दृष्टपूर्वम्॥११- ४७॥
śrī-bhagavān uvāca
may prasannena tavārjunedaṁ
rūpaṁ paraṁ darśitam ātma-yogāt
tejo-mayaṁ viśvam anantam ādyaṁ
yan me tvad anyena na dṛṣṭa-pūrvam

오, 아르주나여! 나는 그대에게 은총을 베풀어, 나 자신의 요가의 힘으로 이 지고의 모습을 보여주었다. 빛으로 가득하고, 모든 것이며, 한계가 없는, 나의 이 본래 모습은 그대 말고는 이전에 아무도 본 적이 없다.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: My dear Arjuna, happily have I shown you, by My internal potency, this supreme universal form within the material world. No one before you has ever seen this primal form, unlimited and full of glaring effulgence.



Bg 11.48
न वेदयज्ञाध्ययनैर्न दानैर्न च क्रियाभिर्न तपोभिरुग्रैः।
एवंरूपः शक्य अहं नृलोके द्रष्टुं त्वदन्येन कुरुप्रवीर॥११- ४८॥
na veda-yajñādhyayanair na dānair
na ca kriyābhir na tapobhir ugraiḥ
evaṁ-rūpaḥ śakya ahaṁ nṛ-loke
draṣṭuṁ tvad anyena kuru-pravīra

베다의 공부에 의해서도, 희생 제의에 의해서도, 자선에 의해서도, 종교 의식에 의해서도, 혹독한 고행에 의해서도, 오, 쿠루프라비(아르주나)여! 이 인간 세상에서 그대 말고는 어느 누구도 이 모습으로 있는 나를 볼 수 없었다.

Bg 11.49
मा ते व्यथा मा च विमूढभावो दृष्ट्वा रूपं घोरमीदृङ्ममेदम्।
व्यपेतभीः प्रीतमनाः पुनस्त्वं तदेव मे रूपमिदं प्रपश्य॥११- ४९॥
mā te vyathā mā ca vimūḍha-bhāvo
dṛṣṭvā rūpaṁ ghoram īdṛṅ mamedam
vyapeta-bhīḥ prīta-manāḥ punas tvaṁ
tad eva me rūpam idaṁ prapaśya

이와 같이 무서운 나의 모습을 보고서 그대는 두려워하거나 놀라지 말라. 두려움에서 벗어나 즐거운 마음으로 나의 이전의 모습을 보아라.

संजय उवाच (Sanjay Said):

इत्यर्जुनं वासुदेवस्तथोक्त्वा स्वकं रूपं दर्शयामास भूयः।
आश्वासयामास च भीतमेनं भूत्वा पुनः सौम्यवपुर्महात्मा॥११- ५०॥
sañjaya uvāca
ity arjunaṁ vāsudevas tathoktvā
svakaṁ rūpaṁ darśayām āsa bhūyaḥ
āśvāsayām āsa ca bhītam enaṁ
bhūtvā punaḥ saumya-vapur mahātmā

산자야가 말했다.

아르주나에게 이렇게 말하고서 바수데바(크리슈나)는 다시 그 자신의 모습을 보여 주었습니다. 그리고 위대한 존재는 온화한 모습이 되어 두려워하는 그를 위로해 주었습니다.

Sañjaya said to Dhṛtarāṣṭra: The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, having spoken thus to Arjuna, displayed His real four-armed form and at last showed His two-armed form, thus encouraging the fearful Arjuna.



Bg 11.51
अर्जुन उवाच (Arjun Said):
 
दृष्ट्वेदं मानुषं रूपं तव सौम्यं जनार्दन।
इदानीमस्मि संवृत्तः सचेताः प्रकृतिं गतः॥११- ५१॥
arjuna uvāca
dṛṣṭvedaṁ mānuṣaṁ rūpaṁ
tava saumyaṁ janārdana
idānīm asmi saṁvṛttaḥ
sa-cetāḥ prakṛtiṁ gataḥ

아르주나가 말했다.

오, 자나르다나(크리슈나)시여! 당신의 온화한 인간의 모습을 보니, 이제 저의 마음이 평온해졌고 본래의 상태로 돌아왔습니다.

When Arjuna thus saw Kṛṣṇa in His original form, he said: O Janārdana, seeing this humanlike form, so very beautiful, I am now composed in mind, and I am restored to my original nature.



Bg 11.52
श्रीभगवानुवाच (THE LORD SAID):

सुदुर्दर्शमिदं रूपं दृष्टवानसि यन्मम।
देवा अप्यस्य रूपस्य नित्यं दर्शनकाङ्क्षिणः॥११- ५२॥
śrī-bhagavān uvāca
su-durdarśam idaṁ rūpaṁ
dṛṣṭavān asi yan mama
devā apy asya rūpasya
nityaṁ darśana-kāṅkṣiṇaḥ

슈리 바가반이 말했다.

그대가 본 나의 이 모습은 지극히 보기 어려운 것이다. 신(데바)들 조차도 이 모습을 보기를 항상 갈망한다.

नाहं वेदैर्न तपसा न दानेन न चेज्यया।
शक्य एवंविधो द्रष्टुं दृष्टवानसि मां यथा॥११- ५३॥
nāhaṁ vedair na tapasā
na dānena na cejyayā
śakya evaṁ-vidho draṣṭuṁ
dṛṣṭavān asi māṁ yathā

베다의 공부로도, 고행이나 자선으로도, 희생 제의로도, 그대가 금방 본 것과 같은 모습의 나를 볼 수 없다.

भक्त्या त्वनन्यया शक्य अहमेवंविधोऽर्जुन।
ज्ञातुं द्रष्टुं च तत्त्वेन प्रवेष्टुं च परंतप॥११- ५४॥
bhaktyā tv ananyayā śakya
aham evaṁ-vidho 'rjuna
jñātuṁ draṣṭuṁ ca tattvena
praveṣṭuṁ ca parantapa

그러나 나에 대한 한결같은 헌신으로 이러한 모습의 나를 알 수 있으며, 나를 있는 그대로 깨달을 수 있으며, 나 안으로 들어올 수 있다. 오, 파란타파(아르주나)여!

मत्कर्मकृन्मत्परमो मद्भक्तः सङ्गवर्जितः।
निर्वैरः सर्वभूतेषु यः स मामेति पाण्डव॥११- ५५॥
mat-karma-kṛn mat-paramo
mad-bhaktaḥ saṅga-varjitaḥ
nirvairaḥ sarva-bhūteṣu
yaḥ sa mām eti pāṇḍava

나를 위해 일하는 사람, 나를 지고의 목적지로 여기는 사람, 나에게 헌신하는 사람, 집착으로부터 자유로운 사람, 어떤 존재도 미워하지 않는 사람은 나에게로 온다. 오, 판다바(아르주나)여!

mat-karma-kṛt — engaged in doing My work; mat-paramaḥ — considering Me the Supreme; mat-bhaktaḥ — engaged in My devotional service; saṅga-varjitaḥ — freed from the contamination of fruitive activities and mental speculation; nirvairaḥ — without an enemy; sarva-bhūteṣu — among all living entities; yaḥ — one who; saḥ — he; mām — unto Me; eti — comes; pāṇḍava — O son of Pāṇḍu.

Translation: 
My dear Arjuna, he who engages in My pure devotional service, free from the contaminations of fruitive activities and mental speculation, he who works for Me, who makes Me the supreme goal of his life, and who is friendly to every living being—he certainly comes to Me.
